The Bones of J.R. Jones Hartford Concert reviews
Finally got to see Santana, but no Samba Pa Ti
Here is the rearranged version of the review with a few words switched:
"White River Amphitheater was a first for me. The acoustics, I think, could have been better. The Bones of J.R. Jones has been to Washington after a long time, but most of the audience, 50 and over, were there. Although there were some younger attendees, we all wanted to hear the music we grew up with. They played several cuts from the new album while promoting it, but it was disappointing not to hear more of the older songs we relate to. The audience's engagement with the music varied noticeably. I had been looking forward to hearing Samba Pa Ti, but they didn't perform it. That was very disappointing. We decided to support reduced traffic by taking the shuttle to the venue. The journey there was smooth, but the return trip was a nightmare. We waited for the bus to pick us up for 2 hours. The concert ended just before 11:00, but the shuttle arrived to pick us up at 1:10 in the morning. It was bitterly cold. Even though it usually takes only 20 minutes to drive home from the Super Mall, I didn't get home until 2:00. I won't repeat that experience. While we were informed that the fireworks display caused delays for all the buses, there was no staff member offering apologies or comfort to the people waiting in line. The situation could have been managed better."
